Some have been adopted into Portuguese from English, like ‘T-shirt’ and ‘week-end’. Fewer have been adopted into English from Portuguese.
Others have been adopted into both English and Portuguese from Italian, like ‘cinema’ and ‘casino’, or from French, like ‘café’ and ‘rosé’, or from other languages.
