Humor Learning About NY

Humor Learning About NY is from Me Talk Pretty One Day, a humorous book by David Sedaris.

This is an excerpt from the chapter See You Again Yesterday:

It seems that if you had to be from America, New York was as good a place as any.

People had heard of it,

especially the three village teenagers who studied English in school

and often dropped by to discuss life in what they called,

I tried to explain that the N and the Y were initials that stood for New and York,

but they still insisted in joining the letters into a single word.

"Ny", they said, was what the insiders called it.

Didn’t everyone in "Usa" use that word?
